Working Together
As a counsellor, my intention is to create a warm and nourishing therapeutic environment in which I can help you identify what helps and what gets in the way of having the life you want.
The approach I use when counselling
I use a gentle therapeutic approach that is, first and foremost, relational and exploratory. I listen with genuine interest to your unique and individual story, and from there we will work on your intentions and goals for your therapy. Our counselling sessions may include inviting and offering reflections, ideas and information, which I encourage you to receive as possibilities for further reflection or to reject if they don’t ‘land’ with you.
Our counselling relationship
I believe that we can all grow and learn in a safe and confidential counselling relationship. You will gain the greatest benefits for yourself if you can make a solid commitment to the counselling process. When you are able to be open and honest about how you feel working with me is working for you, you will step into a deeper and more honest relationship with yourself. I will check-in with you throughout our therapy time together to ensure you feel comfortable with my way of working with you. I also encourage the people who come to see me for therapy, to let me know if something about my counselling approach is not working, and to ask questions if something is not clear so that we can find a way through. Even if this means ending our counselling relationship and supporting you to explore other therapy options that may be better suited to your needs.
Counselling appointments information
As a private practitioner, I see clients for therapy and counselling sessions in my office in Clifton Springs. I provide counselling and therapy services to adults located in Geelong, Bellarine Peninsula, and the Surf Coast regions. If you require an in-person counselling session in Geelong it can be negotiated.
Zoom and telephone counselling is possible for people who live in rural and remote areas, those who are not mobile, or those who otherwise have a preference for either of these modalities.
