Death Cafe

We do not know when we are going to die, and yet many, if not most of us go about our daily lives as though we, and our loved ones will live forever, putting of until tomorrow….

Death Café invites people together to talk about the inevitability of death, so that we can make way for life.

You are invited to come and join us for an open-hearted conversation about the existential inevitability of death, with the intention of opening us up to life.

WHERE: The Bungalow; 32 High Street, Drysdale

DAY: The 1st Wednesday of the month

TIME: 2.30pm – 4.00pm

COST: There is no cost for talking about Death

Tea, coffee and cake to fuel our conversations can be purchased.

An Introduction to Dreams

Traditional cultures the world over, have paid deep significance to their Dreams for many thousands of years. It is only in modern times and particularly in the West, that we have lost contact with the language of our Dreams. This workshop is an invitation to bring back the value of Dreams and Dreaming into our everyday lives as a means of gaining self awareness, insight and understanding.

From an existential standpoint, Dreams are not something we have, they are an expression of our way of being-in-the-world. They represent the tension between what is within our awareness and what is outside of our awareness. There is far more to who and what we are, than what we can possibly know. Dreams are a portal into a deeper way of knowing.

In this ‘Introduction to Dreams’ we will look at how Dreams can illuminate, amplify and clarify our relationship with ourselves, others, and our waking and lived worlds. There will be experiential excercises, shared reflections, and exploration on working on your own dreams, leading us into a group process for working on a dream with others.

You will walk away with an experience and insight into how Dreams can be your constant companion for opening up to new worlds of possibility, even if you don’t easily remember your Dreams.

This introductory workshop is a pre-cursor for an upcoming 8 week Dream Group.

Have you ever wished you could play a musical instrument? Have you ever wanted to try playing music but didn’t feel confident, or rhythmical enough? Well, now is your opportunity.

Come and try this introduction to music making for health and wellbeing. Using a combination of hand drums, percussion, voice and the body, we play structured rhythms and use open expression to activate joy, playfulness and expansiveness whilst having fun, releasing tension and letting go. Please note: This is NOT a music lesson, but rather an opportunity to explore creativity and the beautiful chaos of imperfection. Music allows us to get out of our minds and come to our senses.

If you like it, there is an opportunity to register for our 4 week program commencing Feb 21st.

When: Wednesday Feb 14th, 2018: 7.00pm – 8.30pm.

Where: Queenscliff Neighborhood House: 3 Tobin Drive, Queenscliff.
